December 19th by Anastasia Beaverhausen

I am not sure if you know but its Christmas people and that meant a happy party time at the pub. This is a regular thing in the Pub every Christmas we all dress up have some food and enjoy some merriment.

It seems that the thorn in our side, Pain in the Arse (to all those that call a spade a spade) has turned over a new leaf saying nothing or at least saying it quietly enough so that we do not have to listen to his mindless rambles that are neither funny nor new.

I mean lets be honest here if we are going to have banter then at least let it be new and funny and not just dribble like calling someone overweight fat or someone calling someone black a black *******

Back to the main issue and there was a lot of Christmas songs sang today it’s a shame really that they are only sang once a year as they seemed to bring out the fun in everyone people singing along that would normally not bother. As some of you might know we are a big fan of Nikki at the Karaoke Royalty but she is away sunning herself at the moment and will not be back with us till the New Year, Shame really as it would have been nice to hear a Christmas song sung Nikki style.

Power of love I am told is a Christmas song but I must admit (seems the whole pub felt the same as no one clapped) it was more like a funeral song no real effort and not really that person’s thing. Mind you if he has not practiced it then it is ok to do it badly as you need to learn like everyone else.

Food wise it has to be said that it was top again lovely I think is the best way to describe it its good that we did not have to share with the whole pub as they are not allowed because they are not part of the click (wait a min I am starting to sound like some pompus tw!t).

I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

December 11th by Anastasia Beaverhausen

A very interesting week this. I have to admit that the fun seemed to be back with people showing support for everyone (going back to the good old days if you ask me).

I will not point fingers and say who made last week unfriendly shall we me hearties, After watching the amazingness (might be new word there) that is Nikki singing new things and ending on a high with the new track. All the team love Nikki and hope that she has a lovely holiday while we all freeze here in the UK.

At this point I if I was that way I would review everyone including myself and say how good I was but I won’t I will say that I had fun with some new songs and enjoyed doing them but I do not want to rate myself how sad would I sound.

It seems that we need to rate X Factor at this point but erm I won’t

because I do not watch it and
I have better things to do.

On the reality TV front I would like to remind everyone that would like to get into Big Brother that there are open auditions go to www.channel4.co.uk/bigbrother .

Karaoke Tuesday 11th December by Jake Rocket

A very usual fun packed Tuesday this week, with no annoying interruptions.

Lots of different songs, sang by lots of different people which even included Achy Breaky Heart and TWO Ken Dodd songs! So lots of variety, fun and people not taking it too seriously.

Well it's Christmas soon, so instead of being in the pub we'll all be sat chomping on turkey and watching Doctor Who and other Christmas telly, but there's one more 'pub week' left of the year and we're expecting it to be full and it to be a fun night, where anything goes singing wise (may even try a little bit of 'Santa Claus is coming to town' myself) and where everyone will get into the Christmas spirit and cheer even the worst of singers.

I'm sure someone on here will shortly put up the list of songs that were sang on Tuesday, so that we can all keep track of what is being sung ;-)

Anyway, now a short review of The X Factor

It's mostly shite this year, but whoever wins will still make it to Christmas number one.

Just one more thing, Jake's Tuesday night rating is *drum roll* 7/10.

So that it for this week, bye.

Karoke Tuesday 4th December by Anastasia Beaverhausen

So this is the Tuesday blog, well let me first say hello and welcome to the blog its going to be a view of the night from many different people. Tuesdays has always been fun and there is often people trying new things some work some don’t but its all about the entertainment and not so much about the talent, Mind you I have to say that there are a lot of talented people in on a Tuesday and the diversity of the music amazes me.

As I am sure you know most Karaoke Nights are a load of people only singing what they know and never try new things. I must admit that it can become tiresome the 80’s has gone so lets see some new things. Having said that there are loads of songs in there that people do not normally sing and this adds something different to the night.

Lets be honest here if we could all sing like Leona Lewis how boring would Karaoke be and lets be a little geeky here and say what the definition of Karaoke is

ka·ra·o·ke /
–noun
an act of singing along to a music video, esp. one from which the original vocals have been electronically eliminated.

No where in there does it say how good or bad you have to be. The worrying part is that the people who take it so seriously seem to think that they can bully their karaoke beliefs onto others. The first Example of this was last Tuesday when a fight nearly broke out in the pub and this has never happened on a Tuesday and we have been going for three years now.

I don’t want to sound too negative as we have had some great times down at the Birches Head Hotel and this is down to the DJ the one and only Andy King. Often the night can be destroyed by the DJ and as yet this has never happened. If I am honest I would have to say that the only reason that I still go there is down to him as the prices in the pub are a little high. I do not want to get into a moaning thing here about pub prices as I have never worked in a pub so can not say how much things cost to run or why they are set at the price they are it’s just I feel they are a little high. We sometimes get some free chips which is never a bad thing so I can put up with higher prices if there is sometimes a little treat for us all.

Tuesday 4th December by Face of Bo

It was the first of the Tuesday only Karaoke nights and as expected some of the Thursday crowd turned up. Tuesday as always been the more friendly of the two, with people being able to experiment with new songs without fear of ridicule, and with the full support of the rest of the pub.

However, this seems set to change if last Tuesday was anything to go by! The atmosphere was not the same. Some members of the ex Thursday crowd seem to take their Karaoke far too seriously and say some really hurtful and insulting things about people whilst they are singing (though just loud enough for them to hear, but not the rest of the pub. Coward).

It takes a lot of guts for some people, including myself to sing in front of people and if this is the reception we will have from now on; I can see Tuesday nights going the same way as Thursdays as less and less people will get up and sing, for fear of being rejected and ridiculed by pompous, egotistical bullies that do not see the damage they do. It is not as if said person is much of a songbird himself, although acts like he is a rock star.

Thursday bully boy take note, we will not have our night ruined by you, nor will you frighten us out of singing songs that we want to sing and like to sing, even if it not be to your taste! If you don't like it go jump off a cliff or find another pub to ruin their karaoke night. But note this Tuesday's is our night...our karaoke night! (Sorry bit of a "Bisto" ad rip off there).
Watch this Space as soon to come is the Tuesday Night Karaoke Blog.
